This study of the use of appreciative inquiry summits at 8 different sites in a metropolitan school district in Canada. While the same facilitator used the same processes at all eight sites, the study found that 4 were transformational, two led to incremental changes and two had no impact. The study looks at explanations for the differences that made those transformational and finds that the generativity of the process was critical to success.
