Paper presented at the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) National Conference. Denver, CO.
Current models of instructional design are deficit based: the gap between current performance and desired performance is analyzed and as appropriate, instruction is designed to fill that gap. We advocate the creation of models that meet the needs of communities of learners through sustained positive change. In this session, we will present a new model for instructional design that has the potential to generate and sustain positive change.
