Sister Jayanti believes that if there is friendship between religious leaders there will be peace among religions. Her experience at the Religious Leaders Forum shows how these friendships can develop. Sister Jayanti spoke to another person; one who might not have spoken to someone like her previously. During their conversation they shared their stories, talked and listened respectfully, and discovered the goodness in each other. The result was that “something very beautiful had been created.” Similar conversations between religious leaders can lead to appreciation of the other person’s way of thinking. They can also help leaders trust one another and encourage peace and friendship rather than competition and conversion.
