Education and Professional Experience:
My formal education includes a B.Ed. degree from the University of Alberta, a certifiate in Volunteer Management from Grant MacEwan Community College, and a certificate in Conflict Resolution from the Centre for Conflict Resolution Training at the Justice Institute of British Columbia.
I have done lots of consulting and training work with broad range of clients, mostly in the public and non-profit sectors including: Red Deer College, Grande Prairie Regional College, University of Alberta Faculty of Extension, City of Red Deer, Town of Sylvan Lake, Town of Olds, David Thompson Health Region, Alberta Department of Agriculture, Alberta Department of Education, Community Adult Learning Council, Habitat for Humanity, Alzheimer Society of Red Deer, Central Alberta Refugee Effort, Central Alberta Immigrant Women's Association, Imagine Red Deer, Red Deer Chamber of Commerce, Residential Society of Red Deer, and numerous adult learning councils in Alberta. Private sector clients have included Novacor (chemical manufacturer), Doormasters Inc. Heywood Holmes and Partners LLC, and Finning Inc.
Areas of Interest:
I have been offering workshops on Appreciative Inquiry and using it in my consulting practice since 2002. I am especially interested in introducing groups of all kinds to the theory and practice of AI and in working with organizations committed to optimizing their organizational cultures.
