Community
LTA (Lapka to Aapka) is a community deelopment social project initiated by Dr Naveen Gupta with the objective to change the way auto/taxi drivers interact with tourists in Agra city. They have developed an image of Lapkas (local word in hindi meaning catching customers) to help them learn customer centric focus and learn hospitality in dealing with tourists to transform image of themselves, city and nation.
What We Did
LTA project was started at Raja ki Mandi Railway station in year 2014 with the objective to train auto/taxi drivers towards positive behavior. Today the community has more than 100 members at various places in Agra city- Raja Ki mandi railway station, agra cant and agra fort. The members of community have been trained on positive behaviors such as leading a healthy life by leaving tobacco/alcohol/drugs, positive and supportive approach towards tourists, many of them returned valuables left by mistake in autos, supporting in traffic management along with traffic police personnel, and becoming a brand ambassadors of change in Agra.
Impact on The Organization
- More than 100 autodrivers are living a healthy life
- Numerous tourists are benefited by finding a supportive autodriver as a tour guide
- Image rebuilding of Agra as a tourist destination
- Students learned AI as a tool towards change
Impact on Us
I became a strong advocate of AI as a suitable tool towards desired change management and strongly believe that more and more people should be trained thoroughly on AI and can learn to bring change in organization, communities and society at large.
Very good naveen. Actually the content of your story is damn impressive. I suggest you keep writing.
The idea behind the change is awesome and the impact of the change has given more people a better perspective. To be quite honest most countries would develop so much from this organisation, if they have any intention to spread their wings South Africa could use their model of development. This is really beautiful, it had a personal impact on drivers ad their lifestyles.
