I am a specialist in organization development, practicing “Appreciative Inquiry” in hospitals for 16 years. Nurse retention and satisfaction, along with effective planning and quality improvement, are my focus. I’ve worked with The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Kentucky Hospital, along with eleven hospitals in PA. My current project is improving patient flow and quality of care in 4 emergency departments in rural North Carolina. It is a 3 year HRSA funded project through UNC Chapel Hill. I have an MS degree in Human Resource Development from American University/NTL Institute for Behavioral Sciences, and a BS in Education from the University of Minnesota. Previously I worked for Andersen Consulting, now Accenture, implementing information technology systems. And, I was with CIGNA in human resource management in international and domestic businesses for 17 years. Very early in my career I lived and worked in Guatemala, teaching classes from elementary to adults.
